History of Sri Vedanarayana Swamy Temple

This temple was started by Vijayanagara King Sri Krishna Devaraya on behest of this mother Nagamamaba. So it’s also called as Nagamamba Puram. This temple was stone temple by Chola and Pallava kings. Here, Lord is in the form of Half-Fish and Half-Human. Here lord Vishnu is in Matsya avatar, the lord who saved Vedas from Demon Somakasura. Here Lord Surya gives visual feast to the devotees by giving his sun rays on Surya Pooja.
